Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to reach us, talk with Nour and get an answer, whatever their eyes, ears, voice, hands or attention allow. Voice is never required. We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on this site. We do not claim that every page meets every criterion; where something is in your way, please tell us and we will work on it.
1. Ways to reach us without your voice
- Nour in writing, on every page: tap the butterfly, or choose "Write to me instead". You can switch from voice to writing at any moment, and the conversation stays on screen.
- WhatsApp, in writing, from any "WhatsApp" button on the site.
- Email at contact@nolloi.com, or the contact form, which tells you which fields are needed.
2. When you talk with Nour
- Captions are on from the start, with a switch to turn them off, and a "Full transcript" button lists everything said.
- Everything said stays written when the conversation ends, so you can read it again or continue in writing.
- Pause gives you time to think: while paused, Nour does not hear you and does not speak. Continue brings her back. "Write to me instead" and "End the conversation" are always on screen.
- Her first words are spoken in her voice once per visit, under 8 seconds: at once if your browser allows sound, otherwise on your first tap or click on the page, never on a key or a link. A Stop button appears the moment she speaks, "Nour's voice" can be switched off for good on your device, and "Hear Nour" plays her words again on request. Her small sounds (a short crystal shimmer as she arrives, soft sounds while she writes) have their own switch (♪) and are never heard while she speaks.
- A high-contrast switch in the conversation, large round controls, and the keyboard: Tab moves between controls, Escape hides the window without ending the conversation, and the focus stays inside while she fills the screen.
- Screen readers hear her words and changes such as a pause or the end of the conversation.
3. Across the site
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a link to skip to the content and a visible focus.
- Text and controls are checked for colour contrast, and text can be enlarged.
- If your device asks for less motion, the butterfly stays calm (no flight, no wing beats) and other movement stops. The moving strip of languages can be stopped on the home page.
- Windows high contrast (forced colours) shows plain outlines in your own colours.
- The site is in French, English and Arabic (right to left), and each language is marked so that screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- The pages' content can be read without JavaScript.
4. What we know is not perfect yet
- Live captions are written by machine and can contain mistakes. The transcript keeps what was heard, not a corrected version.
- Voice conversations on the site have a daily time limit, and Nour's written answers on the site are limited per visit. WhatsApp and email have no such limit, and Nour points to them when the limit is reached.
- The screen where a contract is signed is provided by DocuSeal, our signing service, and its accessibility is not in our hands. If it does not work for you, tell us and we will find another way that does.
- We test with automated accessibility checks on every page and by hand with the keyboard, reduced motion, high contrast and forced colours. Testing with people who use assistive technology every day is still ahead of us, and their feedback matters most.
5. Tell us about a barrier
Write to contact@nolloi.com or to us on WhatsApp, in the way that suits you, and say what got in your way and on which page. Every message is read. We will tell you what we can change, and how you can get what you need in the meantime.
